What Is Augmentin?
Augmentin is a compound antibiotic consisting of two ingredients: clavulanic acids and amoxicillin. Antibiotic develops activity against aerobic gram-positive bacteria (including strains that produce beta-lactamase).

Augmentin Dosage
Augmentin 500 mg
Do not take the drug more than 14 days consulting with your doctor.
Adults: dosage 1 tablet (500 mg) 3 times a day.
Children under 12 years: the dose is prescribed depending on the age and body weight. The recommended dosage is 40 mg/kg 3 times daily.
Elderly: the dosage does not need to be adjusted.
Augmentin 875 mg
Adults: 1 tablet of 875 mg 2 times a day.
Children under 12 years: this dosage is not indicated for use in children under 12 years of old or with a body weight less than 88 pounds.
Elderly: no adjustment of the dosage is required.
Consult with your healthcare provider to determine the dose, which would be the most appropriate for your condition. Your doctor will take into account the type of infection and virus vulnerability before prescribing the right dose.
Take the medication as per your prescription label, do not increase the dosage. If you take Augmentin in capsules or tablets, swallow them whole with a glass of water. In the case of chewable tablets, you should chew them before swallowing.
Precaution

- amiloride;

- chloramphenicol;

Missed Dose
If you missed a dose, wait until the next intake according to your schedule. Do not take double amount trying to make up for the missed dose.
Augmentin Overdose
